Yeah, I know: It's been a while....
I've not been too good at keeping up with my blogging. The few friends and family members that read this must think I've fallen in the deep end and drowned. I'm here, just being a bit of a slacker. I must "try" to do better. But as John's favorite movie quote goes: "There is no try, only do or do not." Or something like that.
We took our vaction for the year. Went to NC to visit John's parents (Bruce & Kathy) and to leave Jessica behind for a week. We left on Saturday, June 18th and returned home on Thursday, June 23rd. It's only a 9 hour drive to Graham, NC. John did the speed limit the whole way there and back. Cops were everywhere.
We saw a couple of movies during our trip. All of us went to see "Pacifier" with Vin Diesel. John says he finally made a good movie. It was showing at the $2 theater in town that plays older movies. Jessica, Kathy, and I went to see "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants". It was cute. Jessica and I have read the first two books in the triology and she is working on the third.
We also made a day trip to Myrtle Beach to go see a show called "Le Grande Cirque". It's like the "Cirque de Soleil" shows and it was really good. We had lunch that day at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. John, Kathy and I had "Cheeseburgers in Paradise". They were good, huge, but good.
Bruce drove us down to the beach so Jessica and I could wade in the ocean for a little bit. The water was really warm.
I took my croceting, knitting and cross-stitch with me. I only got to crochet, which I did on the trip down and back. I'm just doing double crochet and in strips, so no counting.
After we got back on Thursday afternoon, I went and got my nails and toes done. They were in desperate need of attention. We also tossed around the idea of going to Tunica for the weekend, but in the end decided to stay at home.
Friday led us to a day of errands and a trip to Huntsville. We did our errands in town and went to Huntsville for lunch at "The Italian Pie" and then to walk around at one of the malls until time for the movie. We went and saw "Mr. & Mrs. Smith". At the mall we only purchased two things. Two new bras for me. John says I need more color. No more white or beige. So John picked out two bras that are suprisingly comfortable.
After the movies we ended up going to Sam's Club for 3 cases of water. They had portable DVD players on sale for $148, so we bought it. We had been wanting one and for that price, couldn't beat it. I may go back and get a second one. We also bought the movie "Hitch".
Well I will leave you for now...catch your breath and rest your eyes. The weekend is not done yet.
