Terrific Tuesday

It got off to a somewhat slow start. My alarm went off at 4:00 and startled me awake. I am a little sore this morning. I imagine thanks to my workout yesterday a.m.

Today I did 45-50 minute cardio workout. Started with the ET this morning, but only managed 10 minutes on it. My left leg felt like it could have buckled at any time. I finished up the remaining time on the treadmill, I walked 2 miles.

When I go to workout the girl the is my personal trainer is there working out as well. I'm not paying her on those days, but having her there makes me push myself just a little harder. Maybe it's because I know I have to report to someone that makes it easier to push.

I weighed myself today. It seems that I have lost 6 lbs. since Wednesday. YEAH!!! 1/10th of the way there. I know the first pounds come off quickly.

I have made an appointment with my surgeon for 12/1. I am going in to see what my options are.

Well, off to get ready for work.......

Happy Monday!

I was up before my alarm went off at 4:00 a.m. this morning. Got up an and changed into my workout clothes, had my apple and headed off to the gym.

I switched up this morning and did the elliptical trainer (ET) first. 20 minutes, not so bad. I had some good music to listen too. By the time I was ready for the treadmill, all the good ones were taken. I did 10 minutes on one of the older ones, until a good one opened up. I then did 15 minutes on that one. I kept my heart rate at 150 & above for at least 30 minutes of my 45 minute workout. I'm not sure how long it took me to get there, but I know the ET will get it there quickly.

My left shin also did not hurt as much this time. I guess the way to go it the ET first and then the treadmill. I also had some numbness in my left toes. I know that is from my L5S1 (lower back) issues. I imagine I will be making an appointment with my orthopaedic surgeon sometime soon. I want to check into artifical disc replacement, to see if I might be a candidate. After two herniations & operations on the same disc, I don't imagine there is much left.

My Harry Potter Day

Jessica and I had a girls day yesterday, while John stayed home and watched football. We went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was good, but a lot had been left out of the book. After the movie we did lunch at Applebee's, we to Barnes & Noble, Target and Wal-Mart.

We declared the day a success and had deemed Sunday's to be movie day for us. That is until she finds something better to do than hang out with Mom on Sundays.

Next Sunday we are thinking of seeing Jarhead, unless something else catches our attention first. We have even asked John to go and he said he might.

That's about it until tomorrow.....see ya then.

Tomorrow is the first day of the new me (hopefully)

I went to the gym tonight! Yeah! I have a personal trainer, her name is Amanda. She is cute, she is blonde and 24, one year younger than my little sister.

I have finally realized that I need to do something about my health. Losing weight (60 lbs) is the first step, but I need help.

So, I met Amanda for the first time tonight. I did 30 minutes of cardio and I thought I was going to die. And to think that when I was in the Army, I could run 2 miles in under 20 minutes.

She gave me a work-out schedule to last me until next Wednesday and a new menu. It's not really a diet, because it's actually more than I eat now. When I think of diet, I think cutting back, not eating more.

K, I'm signing off, cause I'm tired. I need to go to bed early, up at 4:00 a.m.
